Clerk/Programmer Job Description

The Birth to Age 5 Lead Library Clerk/Programmer is a motivated, outgoing and tech-savvy team player that assists with a variety of library duties.

This part time position (up to 24 hours) requires two evenings a month and one half-day Saturday a month. Schedule for days and times can be negotiable.

Responsibilities include:

• Perform all aspects of service desk work including tasks through Evergreen, assigning new cards, checking in/out items, helping library patrons use library resources, shelving books and processing new items

• Plan and provide age and developmentally appropriate programming collaboratively for birth to age 5 patrons, including but not limited to Summer Reading Program, 1000 Books by Kindergarten Program, etc.

• Perform outreach to local schools, daycares and other childrens’ facilities

• Post library content regularly to social media and help keep website updated
